Pressure Cooker Sealing Rings

The cooking valve seal of the Fissler pressure cookers

Vitaquick® and Vitavit® Premium cooking valve seals are made of several individual parts:

  • Vitavit® Premium: rolling diaphragm, cooking valve seal, valve seat seal

  • Vitaquick®: rolling diaphragm, O-ring, valve seat seal

Briefly explained: What makes Fissler pressure cookers safe

In 1953, Fissler invented the first multi-stage safety cooking valve, made the pressure cooker safe and "tamed" it for home use. All Fissler pressure cookers have safety valves and meet strict guidelines. Pressure cannot be built up inside the pot until it is properly sealed. Fissler pressure cookers regulate themselves if the pressure inside should be too high. The pressure cooker can not be opened until there is no more pressure inside. Because of these safety features, using a Fissler pressure cooker is very safe.

Fissler safety system and the pressure cooking cooking valve

  • The cooking crown with traffic light function, the Euromatic cooking valve, the special sealing ring and the ergonomic Fissler safety handle with locking indicator ensure that the cooker is closed safely and airtight.
  • When heating, water vapor is created, which allows the oxygen that is harmful to vitamins to escape.
  • Once the oxygen has escaped, the Euromatic cooking valve closes and pressure build-up begins. The cooking display shows the pressure in the pressure cooker.

For the safety system and the cooking valve to function properly, the lid must close securely with the help of the seal.

When do the valve seals need to be replaced?

The valve sealing rings only need to be replaced in rare cases. Further information can be found in the instructions for use or contact customer service for questions, customerservice@fissler.com
